National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer, May 6, 2010, is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May. People of all faiths are invited to pray for our nation. This day was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.

We hope every Christian school and homeschool co-op will find a way to participate meaningfully through a special time of prayer. We hope families will gather to pray for our nation and its leadership.

There are appropriate ways for educators, parents, and students to gather to pray on public school campuses. The National Day of Prayer has a handbook entitled, School Prayer Event Guide. To access this handbook, go to www.gtbe.org, scroll down the page until you see School Prayer Event Guide.
